- Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is an agency of the Republic of India, responsible for the development of technology for use by the military, headquartered in New Delhi, India.
- DRDO has a network of 52 laboratories
- Engaged in developing defence technologies covering various fields, like aeronautics, electronics and computer sciences, materials, missiles, combat vehicles development and naval research and development.
- The organization includes more than 5,000 scientists and about 25,000 other scientific, technical and supporting personnel.

IT /Software field:
- According to statistics 33% of other branches shift into IT sector.
- TCS, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, CAPGEMINI, CISCO, HCL, IBM, WIPRO, are some of the multinational companies which recruit in a large scale every year.
- TCS recruited more than 40,000 new employees this year. More than 30000 were placed into INFOSYS.
- Some of the Advantages are white collar job, easy placement, more income, multi national exposure, 5-day week.
- Disadvantages are low certainty of job, it is a chair of roses full of thorns, low incentives.
