The selected participants will be grouped into teams to compete in the final oral format round.
Seminars(Power Point Presentations)
As, the subject Automobile Engineering is not in the regular curriculum it was felt that a series of lectures be delivered on the fundamental aspects of automobiles for moving forward with the theme. A number of ASME members have volunteered to deliver talks on the topics of their interest, which are being presented as per planned schedule.

Poster Presentations
Under this category, members will be showcasing the current as well as future trends in the automobile sector as a poster. Examples of topics include: Green Vehicle Technologies, Hybrid Vehicles, Emission Norms and Control Technologies, Safety Engineering, Transmission Technologies, Combustion Engineering, Aesthetics, Crash Testing and Analysis, to name a few.
Auto News
In this event the members are encouraged to visit the official websites of various automobile companies and also go through automobile magazines, to follow latest happenings in the industry and present the information as a News Reading activity. Wherever possible the news would be supplemented by video clippings of the happenings.
Innovative Ideas Presentations
In this event the students will be presenting their own ideas on various aspects of Automobile Engineering, which need to be properly molded to put them into application. A direction for their work will be provided by an expert in this field, so that innovations are promoted leading to projects, entrepreneurial development.
Know Your Transporter
Being engineers we ought to know the technologies that we use in our daily life. Under this event students will identify technological breakthroughs introduced by various automotive companies and present these technologies. Topics that are addressed can include DTSi, CRDi, MPFi, Tubeless Tyres, Alloy Wheels, Safety Air Bags, Power Steering, Aerodynamic design, to name a few.
Case Studies Presentations
Under this event, the students will choose one of the automobile companies and present its historical developments that revolutionized the Automobile Field.
Expert Lecture
The members will get a chance to have one-to-one interaction with an expert from the automotive industry under this event. Pollution Awareness Camp
Service to the society is the social responsibility of every engineer. In accordance with the theme Automobile Engineering, we are organizing an awareness camp on pollution caused by automobiles. As a part of this our members shall reach to the public and enlighten them on the ill effects of pollution and suggest ways and means of reducing the pollution. As a motivation we shall be arranging free pollution checkup for about 100 personal vehicles in the near by villages, Kunchanapalli, Vaddeswaram and Revendrapadu.

ASME-KLU Initiative

Basic Problem Description:
Recycling is a global industry accounting for more than 1.5 million jobs and $100 billion in annual revenue. As a whole, the industry currently processes more than 600 million metric tons of material annually, growing with the expansion of the global, green economy. This global expansion presents an increased need for new, efficient and cost?effective waste material sorters. The goal of the 2010 ASME Student Design Competition is to design, build, and test an autonomous system capable of accurately sorting common recyclable materials, namely ferrous and non?ferrous metals, plastics and glass into distinct waste containers. Your job is to design, build, and test a system capable of rapidly and accurately sorting the four waste materials noted above into distinct waste containers. This system must operate autonomously and be capable of both material identification and waste handling. Points will be awarded based on the proper identification and handling of the waste materials, as well as the speed required to process the materials and the weight of the device.
